If you’re new to color, you should spend some time poking around Photoshop’s color-control panel, which is the second-most used item on this list after brightness and contrast. (To see this tool, choose View and select the Basic panel, as shown in Figure 6-6.) You can use the panel’s tools to adjust color, or you can create a color swatch from a color in an image.

Adjusting perspective: Photoshop offers an extensive set of tools for adjusting the perspective of an image. For example, you can rotate an image, stretch it, and blur it. Most people use perspective for creating a dynamic composition; however, you also can use it to help correct distortions that occur if you shoot a wide-angle lens or a low-angle lens. To shift the perspective of an image, use the Perspective tool. You can use it to change the horizon line (upper or lower), move the horizon to a different spot, or move an image to a different part of the screen.

Follow the steps below to edit images in Photoshop Elements. All the steps take place in the main image editor of the program.
Step 1. Open an image from your hard drive

This option is located directly above the preview window. It will open the image you are currently working on in Photoshop Elements.
